Floor Inspections- private consumers
We are approved and appointed by the Swedish Flooring Trade Association (GBR) to perform impartial GBR floor-controls for private consumer in the event of claim related disputes.
Impartial GBR Claim Inspections
Sometimes in the event of a complaint the parties does not agree on whether it is a valid complaint or not, and a dispute will arise. In these cases, an impartial inspection may be considered. The Swedish Flooring Trade Association GBR has appointed a number of approved inspectors for flooring materials and floor installations around the country for the private consumer sector, which meet high standards of impartiality, professional expertise and many years of experience. These can also be used for complaints where the flooring industry's special "Floor- Warranty" applies, as well as for other complaints where the expertice / inspectors are required for a technical and aesthetic assessment of flooring materials and installations.
To enable inspection in respect to this, the customer must have reported a complaint to the contractor / supplier and that they must have contested responsibility, claim or action, and that there is a dispute in this regard.

What applies to you as a consumer in the event of an inspection assignment
- Make direct-contact with the inspector
- Costs for the inspection is paid in accordance to the agreement between the inspector and the person ordering the inspection. The purchaser shall immediately after the delivered opinion pay the inspection costs, irrespective of the outcome of the dispute.
A statement is drawn up in a written protocol, indicating whether technical defects exist or not. The protocol shall not contain any proposals for action, unless both parties have explicitly requested it. The legal responsibility for the error will not be covered by the inspection report.
An inspection is an expert-opinion and must include a technical / aesthetic assessment and clarify the following:
- Is it a fault?
- What's the fault?
- Cause of the fault?
- The extent of the fault?
- Whether or not to correct the fault?
How to resolve a dispute?
As complaints relate to matters of purchase law, you also as a consumer can turn to the Allmänna Reklamationsnämnden ARN, bostadsavdelningen (The National Board for Consumer Disputes - the Housing Department), www.arn.se or to your municipality's consumer supervisor. When the work is performed by a company affiliated to the Swedish Flooring Trade Association GBR, you also can turn to GBR.

Inspections we not will carry out?
Transfer inspections in connection to property transfers/sales are inspections, is a type of inspection covered by other regulations and it is a different type of inspection to whart we normally work with. Same story with moisture damage inspections and moisture measuring so we do not provide these type of services.
